Triton 2023, a year in review.

As we have now entered 2024, we look back at another fantastic year for us at Triton Showers. We have achieved so much that we are incredibly proud of over the last year, especially in our drive towards becoming Net Zero by 2035. Here are a few of our big, proud stories that we’re excited to celebrate!

The Next Generation of electric showers landed

One of the biggest focuses this past year was the release of our brand new, next generation electric shower, ENVi®️, which was revealed to the public for the very first time at the Installer Show in June. It’s safe to say that everyone who visited our stand was extremely impressed with our new release.

Not only is the ENVi®️ an incredibly stylish feature for any bathroom but it was also created with our ethos ‘Every Drop Makes a Difference’ in mind, helping to make saving water, energy and money more accessible.

Back in April we held an installer focus group, where we invited a group of installers to Triton HQ to get a sneak peek of ENVi®️ and to share their thoughts about the product. This consumer research was invaluable only a couple of months prior to our ENVi®️ launch.

ENVi® became ClimatePartner Certified

The ENVi®️ is our first ClimatePartner certified product – an achievement which brings us great pride. To achieve this, we calculated the carbon-footprint of the full lifecycle of the ENVi®️ shower, and took action by investing in climate projects to compensate for this. The work was verified and accredited by ClimatePartner, an independent partner who helped us to identify appropriate projects which enable carbon savings and support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to improve lives.

We were Carbon Neutral (again)

2023 also saw us awarded Carbon Neutral certification for the second year running, marking another important step on our journey to becoming Net Zero by 2035. The accreditation was awarded by PlanetMark, an internationally recognised sustainability certification. It covers our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, as well as business travel, water consumption, waste, employee commuting, and paper usage for our UK and China operations in the 2022/23 financial year, all in accordance with PAS 2060:2014.
The carbon neutral certification is a testament to our continuous commitment to sustainability, which is underpinned by our 'For a Cleaner Conscience' brand positioning, with the business activating new projects, as well as nurturing existing initiatives.

Steve Malkin, CEO and Founder of PlanetMark, said: PlanetMark is delighted to be working with Triton Showers, and are especially pleased with their carbon neutral certification achievements. Their commitment to becoming a more sustainable business is testament to their devotion to contributing to a more sustainable world. Triton Showers is a shining example of sustainability in their industry, and I look forward to working with them in the years to come.

We launched the Sustainability Six

Back in June we launched our internal initiative ‘Sustainability 6’, comprised of 6 project teams with over 40 employees across the business – all aiming to help us deliver our Net Zero 2035 goal. Some examples of projects include Gas-Free Site and Fuel-Free Fleet – which aim to reduce our on-site gas usage and transition of our vehicle fleet to Electric Vehicles.

We won some awards (again)

Our efforts towards sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint were rewarded at both the BMA and PlanetMark awards. We were thrilled to receive the Carbon Reduction Award at this year’s BMA Sustainability Awards, and the ENVi®️ also got a special commendation. In November, we were delighted to have won the PlanetMark award in the ‘Sustainability Campaign’ category. Feedback featured the following: “For a campaign directly related to their business and translated to their audience in a very relatable way, this company understands its responsibility and tackles it with authenticity.”

We opened our new Circularity Department

Recently, the Norcros Board visited us at Triton HQ and took a tour around our brand-new Circularity Department. As a part of our continued progress towards our Net-Zero 2035 goal, we have re-conceptualised our returns into the circularity department, where we can better process and recycle our products, and return usable items back into stock. We know that the recycling we already do is a step in the journey, and we're committed to improving our processes to ensure we do what we can to reduce our carbon output year-on-year.

We supported our community

This past year we also continued to build on our community relationships, including two more successful canal clean ups with the Canal and River Trust, making that five in total now. We had willing volunteers head out onto the Nuneaton waterways, removing items such as sofas and mattresses from the water. We are proud to nurture a great relationship with the Canal and River Trust and look forward to continuing to work together in the years to come.

Overall, it’s been another brilliant year for us at Triton and that is thanks to the hard work and dedication of all our employees. It really goes to show that every drop (and every employee) really does make a difference. Here’s hoping for an even better year in 2024!
